Flower Cupcakes

Lately, I have had the chance to work with fondant. My aunt has been giving me the extra fondant she has. I got some fondant the day before my sister's birthday, so I made some fondant flower cupcakes for her birthday party. I watched this video on how to make fondant roses I found the video really helpful. The roses were super easy to make. The cupcakes turned out great.

Blueberry Cupcake

One of my goals for the summer is to make all kinds of different cupcakes. I have tons of different ideas, and I can't wait to try them. On Saturday, I made Blueberry cupcakes. Although I wanted to make blueberry lemon cupcakes, I couldn't get them to have a strong lemon flavor. Since I didn't have enough sour cream, I did half milk and half sour cream. Because of the few changes I made, I was a little worried about how the cupcakes would turn out. Thankfully, they turned out wonderfully. For the frosting, I did a lemon cream cheese frosting. Because of the heat, I could only frost five at a time before the frosting started melting. I finished the cupcakes off with a blueberry. With one bit, I fell in love with these cupcakes. I am definitely go to keep this recipe. I brought them to a brat fry I did on Sunday. I had to keep them in a cooler, so the frosting didn't melt. They were a delightful treat for a hot day, perfect for summertime. I am excited to make more cupcakes this summer.

Graduation Cards

Wow, it's been a long time. I've just forgotten to post all my creations on my blog. Now that it's summer, I have a lot more time on my hands. I can't wait to start crafting. Tonight I sat down and made tons of graduation cards. Since we are going to four graduations tomorrow, I decided to make graduation cards. I looked online for a template and printed out a few. All I had to do was paper clip the template to a piece of paper and cut it out. It was so easy. Maybe a little time consuming, but definitely worth the work. I love how they turned out. Can't wait to make more.

Cute Easter Egg Chicks

Last Saturday, we dyed Easter eggs. As always, our family went all out. This year I decided to make three chicks. I used blue tape for the eyes and beak. To make a perfect circle for the eyes, I used a single hole punch. After placing the tape in the right places, I put the eggs in the dye. Once they had sat in the dye for a while, I pulled them out and let them dry. Then I took off the blue tape. I used sharpies to color in the eyes and beak. For the wings, I colored card stock with sharpie. Then I cut the colored card stock into wing shapes and taped it to the chicks. Although it was a little time consuming, it was a lot of fun. And they turned out so cute.

Fun with Nails

On Monday, I decided to try a fun nail design. I did a layer of light pink on my nails. Once the first layer dried, I put on a thin strip of tape on each nail. Then I painted over the tape and first layer with hot pink. When the second layer dried, I took off the tape. It created a light pink strip in the hot pink. I was easier than I expected and a cute design. I can't wait to try some more designs.

Sale on Paper

I just can't resist a sale on scrapbooking paper. Especially when it's 50% off. I couldn't help but by a stack of paper. It was hard to decide what to get. I wanted something spring and finally got it narrowed down to three stacks. After a while of deliberating, I decided on the Oops-A-Daisy stack. Perfect for spring It is definitely inspiring buying paper. I just can't wait to start creating some awesome cards with the paper.

Magnets

For my birthday, I made magnets. I used those glass marbles used in vases and circle magnets from Hobby Lobby. They are super easy. Just trace the glass bead on a piece of paper, decorate and glue the paper to the glass bead. You have to wait and let the glue dry. Once the glue is dry, use a hot glue gun to glue on the magnets. I did a lot of the magnets with my initials. Finally I got bored of just initials and did words. I can't wait to make more magnets.

Picture Frames

At my Christmas choir concert, I had a picture taken of Mrs. Appell and me. When she asked for a copy of the picture, I immediately wanted to make her a picture frame. I got the frame from Micheal's($1 for a wooden frame) and then decorated it with music paper. After making the frame for Mrs. Appell, I also made a frame with letters.

Cupcake Card

I made this card, for a friend's birthday. I love the cupcake template. It was so easy to easy with. The card matches with the cute cupcake wrapping paper I found. I also got a chance to use the pastel cards and envelopes I got from Abby, another one of my amazing friends. I loved not having to measure out paper for a card. That was a plus. The pink was a nice inside for the card and work well. It was a cute card and I can't wait to make one like it again.

Valentine Cookies

The night before Valentine's Day I help my mom make some cookies for her class. I didn't get a picture of the frosted ones. The cut outs were fun to experiment taking pictures with. Here are some of my favorites.

I just love this picture

A card for a friend

Here is a card that I made for Audrey. It turned out pretty nice. I found the template in a pile of paper and had to make something with it. It has been a long time since the last time I made a card and was good getting back into it. The one problem was the inside had a little bend in the paper. Such a cute card otherwise. Can't wait to make more cards.

Cake Pops

For Christmas, I got a cake pop book from my amazing friend Audrey. Last weekend I got together with her to make cake pops. They are a little putsy, but so much fun to make none the less. They turned out great. Such cute treats. I made them for my small group at church. They were a big hit. Can't wait to make them again sometime.

Birthday Invitations

I have always wanted to make handmade birthday invitations, so this year I spent an entire afternoon working on the invitation. It was a lot more work than I expected, but the results were worth it. The first two were made with a letter cutter I borrowed from my aunt. The letters took a lot more time than I expected so I decided to print out you're invited on the rest of the cards. Although they weren't as nice as the first two, they still worked out and made the job ten times easier. I was very happy with the results.

Here are all the invitations. I love the polka dot paper.

Here is the card that probably turned out the best.

Here is a up close of the letters. They are a little larger than my thumb nail
